Him is a Charles Ching Scholar of 2021 and a Patrick Yu Memorial Scholar of 2024.


He joined Chambers after serving his pupillage with Mr Peter Duncan SC, Mr Kenny Lin, Ms Catherine Wong, Mr Tony Ko and Mr Benson Tsoi (now Mr Benson Tsoi SC).


Prior to reading law at the University of Hong Kong, Him read business and Japanese language at the Chinese University of Hong Kong during which he has studied abroad at the University of Cambridge, Waseda University in Tokyo and Fudan University in Shanghai. He is fluent in Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and Japanese. As an active mooter, Him has represented the University of Hong Kong in arbitration moots conducted solely in Japanese.


Him’s civil practice focuses primarily on land, building management, commercial and company disputes. He also has experience in handling cases involving personal injuries, injunctions, cryptocurrency fraud, bankruptcy and winding-up matters, civil contempt, probate, election affairs and judicial reviews.


On the criminal side, Him has handled cases involving murder, manslaughter, arson, market misconduct, medical negligence, bribery, money laundering, fraud, drugs and traffic offences. He has appeared before various quasi-judicial bodies in regulatory and disciplinary matters such as the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal (SFAT). He has also been instructed by the Department of Justice to prosecute on fiat.


Currently, Him is a part-time lecturer in the Department of Law of the University of Hong Kong and in the School of Law of the City University of Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Committee on Arbitration of the Hong Kong Bar Association. He is on the Legal Aid Panel for both civil and criminal cases.
