Marco obtained his law degree and postgraduate certificate in laws from the University of Hong Kong. He also obtained two master of law degrees from the City University of Hong Kong. He was admitted as a barrister in 1996 and served his pupilage with the then Legal Department.
After completion of pupilage, Marco worked as Government Counsel/Senior Government Counsel in the Prosecutions Division, Department of Justice (DOJ). He spent 12 years in the DOJ advising and prosecuting a variety of cases at all levels of courts. In 2010, he left the DOJ for the Judiciary where he was appointed Permanent Magistrate. During his 6 years with the Judiciary, he handled all sorts of criminal cases in different capacities: Magistrate, Deputy District Judge and Assistant to Justices of Appeal (Criminal).
After resumption to private practice in 2016, Marco has been busy at both sides of the Bar table, prosecuting and defending simultaneously. He is on popular demand for advisory, trial, and appellate work. At the same time, he also serves as a member of the Torture Claim Appeals Board.
Marco’s experience in criminal matters is immense. His specialty includes commercial fraud, money laundering, corruption, market misconduct, cybercrime, tax and occupational safety.
